Known of his work on Freerange, Shur-i-kan’s trademark blend of musicality with cutting edge electronic production has been turning heads for a number of years now. Lazy Days was lucky to have access to this original EP. The title track, Simply Yes, features the legendary vocals of Alexander East in a track reminiscent of old Salt City Orchestra on Paper. The House We Built is a rich instrumental track that proves that vocals are not always needed to tell a story. On the remix we asked our old friend Dick “Magik” Johnson from New Zealand to give us to distinctive remixes, deep & dark. Fred Everything gives “Simply Yes” a traditional edit update, reworking the beats and structure while keeping the integrity of the instrumentation.
Written and produced by Tom Szirtes. Vocals by Alexander East. Remix and additional production by Magik Johnson and Fred Everything. C&P Lazy Days Recordings 2008.
